Why take water from the lake?
Including a drop of water from the lake is essential to us. It is a strong symbol, a precious resource, an intention, and a gift. It is a strong symbol, a precious resource, an intention, and a gift. We extract, while holding our breath, only one drop of water, which amounts to 0.5 liters for our launch forecasts and about 2 liters for our most promising three-year prospects. We have been transparent with the authorities. The impact is negligible, but the message is essential.
Where does the scent come from?
To create our scents, we start by creating a visual trend board designed in a group. If you are part of the community, you can participate in the creation of the next ones. For summer, the feeling of serenity and well-being is predominant, a serene, sunny, pure emotion. We then work with a nose, Eléonore, and the assistance of our perfumers, Rémi and Jean-Philippe. Thanks to their outstanding work, we compose a fragrance with “grand cru” ingredients, developed with a responsible approach. Eléonore’s inspiration and know-how translate the shared emotions into perfumes.
Why choose synthetic reeds?
Traditionally, sticks are made of natural wood, bamboo, or rattan. They are often varnished for aesthetic reasons, which detracts a bit from the natural approach. Until now, synthetic products were not satisfactory in their composition. Innovations have since made it possible to develop products made from bio-sourced (corn and sugarcane) and biodegradable fibers. We chose these because of their composition, appearance, and diffusion quality. We have not found suppliers in France or Europe. We continue our research and refine comparisons between natural and biodegradable synthetic products.
What do you do with the “solidarity” euros?
We have chosen to join 1% for the Planet, and we will keep you informed of the uses and actions taken. Currently, we allocate our funds to the Water, Snow, and Ice Foundation, and then to The Water Family. Their actions and commitments are reflected in funding scientific knowledge about water and implementing campaigns and educational initiatives for everyone. The water issue is societal, and we must become aware of it, understand it, and take action.
Can I transport Ode Annecy by plane?
Yes, there is no problem with the 100ml bottle in your carry-on baggage. We recommend putting it in a transparent plastic bag for peace of mind. For the 200 ml version, prefer to put it in checked luggage; our customs friends will not let it pass.
What are the risks in breathing / VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)?
We have chosen a quality vegetable alcohol (mainly from beet fermentation) made in France, which attests to no GMOs, no animal testing, and no nanoparticles. The diffusion by capillarity (with sticks), the absence of combustion (versus candles), combined with a composition
Isn’t that just marketing?
What drives us is the sincere, deep desire to develop a sensory marker, a perfume. We believe in the power of memory, in its ability to trigger emotions, to bring pleasure and happiness. We also believe in the power of the symbol which raises awareness, federates and connects. We believe in the importance of a responsible, measured and united approach. We believe in the requirement and the power of an ancestral know-how that is that of Haute Parfumerie and this alliance of essences and meanings. To share these convictions we formalize a brand, a story, relationships… we communicate, we share, we affirm. All this is necessarily a form of marketing … responsible and sincere. Where does this great idea come from?
Ten years ago, while on vacation on the island of Elba, we brought back a Mediterranean- colored ambient fragrance from a beautiful square signed Acqua di Elba. Back in France, every breath plunged us back into those happy moments with family. Since our installation in Annecy, amazed by the beauty of nature, the attraction of the lake, the dynamic of life, the idea of reproducing this pattern has animated us…the beginnings of Ode Annecy.”
